I survived!

So I went to this family thing with Jill today. Most of you know of my fear of social situations and this was a big one. Things went fairly smoothly and I didn't seem to upset anyone so I'm happy. LOL!

We went to the parade and the carnival yesterday. Had a good time. Not much action in the tiny town of Mifflinburg any way you slice it.

I could write a buncha crap in here but I'm tired. I could tell you that the stupid check engine light is back on in my car or that the birthday party for my nieces is this Sat. I could even tell you that I finally get to see a dentist tomorrow but I'm not gonna... I'm going to bed! :-p

Yet another day...

So I got my car back from the garage and it's all beautiful again! I love it! I just made the first payment... another 59 to go.. LOL!

Work is it's usual hateful self. Nothing major really going on there. The new schedule came out and it's the week that I'm on vacation. Yay!!!

I'm gonna take Jill to the Mifflinburg Fireman's parade tomorrow evening... or since it's after midnight, tonight. Probably go walk around the carnival afterwards too. Not that there's much to see or do there. Small town = small carnival. Sunday I'm supposed to be going with her to some family thing. Kinda nervous, I haven't met most of her family. She says that they won't even notice me, so I'm kinda liking that. I hate social situations!

Anyway... as doped up as I am, I dunno if any of that made any sense. *shrugs* Oh well! I'm going to bed now!

Wassup?

Yeah... I haven't really written a post for a while. So what's happening with me? I've been working, sleeping, playing my game, and hanging with Jill. I've also had this toothache for a few days. I have a dentist appointment (I'm a wuss) but anyway....

I was in geek heaven last night. I came home and my Master Replicas lightsaber was waiting for me by my door! Oooh! I LOVE it! Soooo freaking cool.

Took my car to the garage last night. I hope they figure out what's wrong with it. I'm in love with that car. The first payment is due on the first of Aug and I haven't gotten a payment book yet. Kinda worried but I can just go to the bank and make a payment I think.

I should go get ready... Jill is supposed to call. She's gonna take me to get my check and maybe out to lunch. I'm outtie!

Billy Joel: She's got a way

Billy Joel Lyrics

Mix and Match

So tonight I have a lot to write about and I'll probably forget something amongst all of this... but here goes anyway!

I think mom found my blog. I dunno if this is a good thing or not. This blog is where I just let it all out. The good, the bad and the ugly all end up on here because those that I live with day to day don't read this, with the exception of one or two notables. This is where the thoughts, feelings and frustrations flow without fear of hurt feelings or whatever. Censorship would not be cool.

Why do I think mom found this blog? I came home tonight and found a letter on my bed. In this letter mom talked about things that I never discussed with her but did write on here. Besides, she asked about my blog the past coupla days. *shrugs* Anyway, this letter totally blew my mind. This is a side of mom I haven't seen in a LONG time. The mom who understood that it's only those who risk going too far who find out how far they can go. The mom who didn't immediately pass judgement without at least trying to see things from multiple angles. I missed that mom...The one who wasn't afraid of life and all it entails. The joy, the pain, the journey is the fun and not the destination. *nods*

Jill and her sister came into the store tonight. *grins* Took a lot of flak but I didn't care. I think the store is abuzz about us seeing each other. Sad when my personal life becomes the topic of discussion amongst my peers.

Oh and before I go tonight... I got some more questions for everyone! :-p

Can you cry under water?

How important does a person have to be before they are considered assassinated instead of just murdered?

If money doesn't grow on trees then why do banks have branches?

Since bread is square, then why is sandwich meat round?

Why do you have to "put your two cents in".. . but it's only a
"penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to?

Once you're in heaven, do you get stuck wearing the clothes you were buried in for eternity?

Why does a round pizza come in a square box?

What disease did cured ham actually have?

How is it that we put man on the moon before we figured out it would be a good idea to put wheels on luggage?

Why is it that people say they "slept like a baby" when babies wake up like every two hours?

If a deaf person has to go to court, is it still called a hearing?

If you drink Pepsi at work in the Coke factory, will they fire you?

Why are you IN a movie, but you're ON TV?

Why do people pay to go up tall buildings and then put money in binoculars to look at things on the ground?

How come we choose from just two people for President and fifty for Miss America?

Why do doctors leave the room while you change? They're going to see you naked anyway.

If a 911 operator has a heart attack, whom does he/she call?

Do illiterate people get the full effect of Alphabet soup?

Who was the first person to look at a cow and say, "I think I'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out!"

Why do toasters always have a setting that burns the toast to a
horrible crisp, which no decent human being would eat?

Why is there a light in the fridge and not in the freezer?

When your photo is taken for your driver's license, why do they tell you to smile? If you are stopped by the police and asked for your license, are you going to be smiling?

If Jimmy cracks corn and no one cares, why is there a stupid song about him?

Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane?

If the professor on Gilligan's Island can make a radio out of a
coconut, why can't he fix a hole in a boat?

Why do people point to their wrist when asking for the time, but don't point to their crotch when they ask where the bathroom is?

Why does Goofy stand erect while Pluto remains on all fours? They're both dogs!

What do you call male ballerinas?

Is Disney World the only people trap operated by a mouse?

Do the Alphabet song and Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star have the same tune?

Why did you just try singing the two songs above?

Did you ever notice that when you blow in a dog's face, he gets mad at you, but when you take him for a car ride; he sticks his head out the window?

The mosaic of our lives....

Isn't it iteresting how from all the broken pieces of pottery, tile, glass and whatever an artist uses they can put together an amazing picture? I've marveled at how the pieces fit together to shape the image that we perceive when we step back to take it all in. Each piece falling into just the precise location with the perfect positioning to mold the image that it is destined to become a part of.

Our lives are a lot like those mosaics. Except instead of pottery, glass, tile and whatnot; it's dreams, desires, experiences, feelings, beliefs and so much more that paint the portrait. I've just become aware of the pieces beginning to fall together in my life. Even if I don't yet know what the picture is that they are forming, I know it's falling together just as it should. I've complained and bemoaned things, I've celebrated and worried about people, and I've just finally realized they are working together to weave the fabric of my life a little tighter.

With that realization comes new understanding. I am learning to see things not only with my own eyes but with those of the people around me. I'm trying to learn to appreciate not just what people mean to me but what I mean to them. A whole new spin is put on things when you try to see yourself through their eyes.

I have a greater appreciation for the trust people put in me. I've been taught the past few days that there are those who trust me; and then those who trust me implicitly. The greatest feeling of all is when someone trusts you enough to allow themselves to be completely vulnerable with you.

I am humbled and awed at the lessons I'm being taught. I'm also amazed that I've learned to let the picture take shape rather than need to paint my own.

The Battle Rages On

Disclaimer: Some of you may not like this post. This is my blog about my life, so if you do continue to read and get upset, please remember that I did warn you beforehand.

Now some of you know that I have this friend, Jill. We've kinda been spending some time together and I kinda think things will progress. Jill and I went to the movies the other night and we just hung out afterwards. It was a nice relaxed evening and I fell asleep on the couch. Well, I didn't make it home until about five the next morning and mom was jacked that I hadn't called. Kinda hard to call when you're asleep... *shrugs* Jill and I went out today for lunch and we walked around the mall and just talked. She asked if I had plans for after work Sat. night. I told her that I didn't and that we could get together if she liked. Now I should tell you that Jill works third shift so she's up all night (sorta like me). So I asked mom if she'd have a fit if I didn't come straight home after work. This began an entire series of comments, rants, and questions that really hurt me. Mom asked about Jill's background and I told her what I knew. Apparently mom wants to hold Jill's past against her. Like people don't change, second chances aren't deserved, and the same idiotic mistakes are destined to be made over and over. Mom also told me that she'd feel better if she knew my "standards" were higher. I guess because I disagree with her about some things and I don't try to push my value system on others I'm some godless heathen who's beneath her. Mom is concerned about me going out drinking or becoming a daddy. Like I don't have enough backbone, courage or intestinal fortitude to stand up for what I believe in or something. *sighs* I could rant and rave for hours but I don't wanna... I already got it all off my chest with my man Seth. The one person whose opinion I value the most and whom I know I can tell anything and get support and feedback without a beatdown. So now I'm off and I'm gonna bury my face in a pillow and try to block it all out.

Future ax murderer?

So my mom thinks my obsession with DoD is unhealthy. She thinks that it's too violent or whatever. I'm freakin almost 25 years old and this game is not exactly all that graphic and she's asking these sorts of questions? *sighs* I just had to get that off my chest.

Spanish Inquisition

I'm tired of all the questions from everyone. They all want to know what's going on in my personal life. Friends, Associates, and my family all are asking. If I wanted ya'll to know I'd tell ya. There are a few who know, those I trust implicitly with all my deepest thoughts and fears. Please don't take offense if I haven't filled you in... As much as I love all my friends, there are only three who have made it to the innermost scoundrel circle. The questions have ranged from inquisitive to downright ludacris. Some of them I don't even have an idea where they come from.

I had to lay out THE rules to a friend tonight... One; Deny, Deny, Deny! Two; Never write anything down. Three; Never take any photos. Four; Deny, Deny, Deny!

Anyway... there are other things I could write about but I don't feel like it. I'm outtie!

Poor little clan boys!

Yeah... I was playing DoD tonight (when aren't I?) and I was kicked from not one but TWO servers tonight for killing admins. Yeah... it's fine when I'm on their team that I am usually top of my team but when I'm on the other team and pwning them... I get kicked! I mean, if you're this insecure about someone being better than you at a game... then I'm the least of your problems guys! C'mon and just play you poor little lost souls who haven't seen daylight in years!

Oh yeah... Phil was over tonight with Christian. We hung and goofed around. I spent most of my day doing nothing... Oh!!! and talking to Jill. *grins* Now I'm gonna get outta here... I gotta work early in the morn.

Garth Brooks: The Red Strokes

Friday, July 08, 2005

Phil Vassar: I'll Take That as a Yes

You like a dozen wine red roses
Candle lights on porcelain set tables
And that's fine
Well, I'll go out of my way for you anytime, that's right

The fire's warm so you take off your sweater
Now it's my turn and I'll do you one better
That's the game we both like to play

You wink, I laugh 'cause we know
A little hug leads to a foot rub
Then a hot tub
Then a French kiss on a bear rug
Do you like it
Do you like it
How about this
Wanna try it?
Oh, oh, oh
I'll take that as a yes

You like snugglin' with your pillow
With my arms tight holdin' us together
Breathin' deep
Driftin' like a feather in a stream

Then I touch you on your shoulder
Feel your skin soft underneath my fingers
And I know we'll never get to sleep

You wink, I laugh 'cause we know
A little hug leads to a foot rub
Then a hot tub
Then a french kiss on a bear rug
Do you like it
Do you like it
How about this
Wanna try it?
Oh, oh, oh
I'll take that as a yes

It's written all over your face
There's no mistake, no guess, no doubt
No beatin' around the bush
Baby it's understood

You wink, I laugh 'cause we know
A little hug leads to a foot rub
Then a hot tub
Then a French kiss on a bear rug
Do you like it
Do you like it
How about this
Wanna try it?
Oh, oh, oh
I'll take that as a yes

I'll take that as a yes

I'll take that as a yes
Cuz we know
That a little hug leads to a foot rub hot tub bear rug

I like it
I like it

And the world spins around yet again

So yeah... I'm sitting here chilling. Lots going on as of late. I bought a new car, had my nephew here for a few days, been trying to help out a friend who's having some issues in her life and working as always. The next coupla days look pretty full too. Gonna play some basketball with the guys, take the car to the garage and that ever present work.

Let's start with my new car. I LOVE it! It's a 2000 Volvo S80 T6. This car is pure luxury but don't let that fool you... It's definitely got it where it counts. It looks a whole lot like this. It's also listed on supercars.net right here.

My nephew spent the entire Fourth of July weekend with us. He's a good kid. A bit misunderstood by his family, though. He pretty much took over my room and played video games the entire time.

My poor friend. She has so much going on in her life. Some of it is her fault but a whole lot of it is outta her hands and she has to deal with it. I took her out to lunch today just so she'd have a chance to talk it all out with a friend. I think she felt better having gotten it all off her chest with someone who didn't condemn her or give her some trite advice.

Work? Not even gonna go there... Next subject!

*smirks*

I feel I hafta talk about something but I don't really want to share the subject with everyone so I'll just say this...

I screwed up, you screwed up, it worked out for the best. We need to let go of the dead past but remember its lessons. I bear no ill will and hope you don't either. We just recall things from different points of view so let's not go there anymore.

Ok... I'm all done for tonight. I don't know if anyone really reads this... and tonight's entry don't even know if anyone will understand it or care but I don't care. I'm outtie!
