All of the not-really news

Nothing major has been happening lately. All of the mundane happenings of everyday life have been adding up to few newsworthy events but this is the accounting of such.

I called off work today. I left early yesterday because I've been kinda run down... just not generally feeling real well. I'm sure it's the pace we've been having to keep at work lately and all the stress going on overall.

Gram should be coming home Tuesday. Hopefully, that will ease things within the family slightly. We've all been under a strain and it's taking a toll on all of us.

I did get to see the love of my life last evening. I cannot stress enough how much she means to me. I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life with her.

Since I last updated that's pretty much all of the stuff worth writing. There have been a few other minor things but nothing that you, my few but loyal readers, will care about.

Now, I shall leave you for the time being.

The highs and lows

I have updated recently but I thought I'd elaborate on my previous post and share what's gone on since.

I'm still on vacation until Monday. I've had one of the best and one of the worst weeks of my life. I guess I should start somewhere....

*chuckles*

Lessee... My grandmother is temporarily in a nursing home. At least we all hope it's temporary. She's definitely getting better, but she HATES it in the nursing home.

Jill is too good to me. I made mention of our vacation but I didn't tell you all that she bought me presents as well. She paid for nearly everything on our trip, plus presents! She spoils me so!!!

I bought a new car. I traded my Volvo in on a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero. Straight trade. My volvo for this one. Lowered my payments and I get waaaaaay better gas mileage. I'm happy!

I went to Jill's family reunion with her today. She kept telling me how much she hates these reunions. I told her we could blow it off... but she felt obligated so we went.

I loved spending a whole week with the woman who owns my heart and soul. We had some very nice talks and she has been so great with all that's going on with my family. The only slightly disconcerting thing was today... She was irritable and I understand that completely. It just felt like she was happy to be rid of me... I can be an annoyance but... *sighs and shrugs* Anyway... I'm more than likely blowing things outta proportion as usual.

It's been a while...

Yes, the old scoundrel hasn't really updated for a few days again. *shakes head* I know, I'm terrible. I was just saying to Jill the other day how none of my friends have updated their blogs or myspace pages or whatever in a long time and now I went and did the same thing. *chuckles* I'm fixing that right now and I hope everyone else does too.

Let's see... My last post was about my grandmother. She will leaving the hospital in the next few days and temporarily entering a nursing home. As I told you before, she has a myriad of health issues but the latest was not one to be fooled around with. Turns out she was septic and could have died quite easily. Thankfully, she is recovering... slowly but recovering nonetheless.

Most of you know that I have been on vacation. It started on the twelfth and will end on the twentieth. I've been having a very nice time. Sat. I visited Phil and Vicki and Christian. Sunday Jill and I went to visit Gram in the hospital and then we hung out with Mark and Derek and played games. Monday we visited with Seth and Vanessa. Tuesday we left for Canada and Niagara Falls. Long drive! *chuckles* We visited the Ripley's museum and 4D theater, we of course spent some time at the falls themselves, we rode the Maid of the Mist and just kind of generally went sightseeing. Lovely trip in all and then we came back today.

Right now I'm updating while at the fire station because we were here when a call came in for a motor vehicle accident so my honey went running. *shrugs* This is what happens when you're in love with an EMT/Firefighter.

I think that's all the relevant high points of the past several days... Oh, wait! Yesterday was my niece's birthday. Happy birthday, Jessica!

Thoughts and prayers appreciated

Just to let you all know... My grandmother, who as most of you know, is in poor general health overall, was taken to the hospital. She has a myriad of problems that I won't get into just now. However, I will say that any thoughts and prayers are much needed and appreciated.

I will update sometime in the future... I just wanted to tell you all that I love and appreciate every one of you.

Unrelated random thoughts and facts

Thinking about trading in my car. I need something that doesn't cost $60 for a tank of gas and only gets 18 mpg.

Larry the Cable Guy: Health Inspector wasn't as funny as I'd hoped. Still pretty good though. *shrugs*

Had a busy evening tonight. Fixed the mirror on my car. Redid the DVD for Jill's uncle. Figured out more kewl stuff on that software. Got some bills around and got the checkbook all sorted out. Fixed my sister's computer. Yeah... I think that's the major highlights.

Since my last update what have I been up to? Not a lot. Working and trying to spend as much time as possible with Jill. *smirks* Yunno, the basics of my life. I made a DVD for her the other day since I was messing around with the program... Now I wish I could do it again since I know more about it.

I've been falling asleep too early and not calling her. I guaranteed her that I'd be awake tonight and I'm only nineteen minutes from keeping that promise. ;-)

Vacation starts at seven pm today. It's gonna be great! I've got major plans for Sat. The rest of the week is kinda up in the air but I do know that I'll be seeing the love of my life so that's what matters.

A reasonable facsimile of an update

Yeah... I don't have a whole lot to really say that you will care about. *shrugs* That's just my life. Ya'll know that by now. *chuckles* Look back through the archives and you'll see that for two years and two months I've bored you all the same.

Since my last update? Not a whole lot has happened. I've worked, slept and Jill and I worked on her aunt's birthday dvd. And then there was today. *chuckles* I felt like superhuman or something today. I got up early, mowed our plantation (and if you've ever been to our house you know that we have LOTS of yard), then I made lasagna for Jill (I'd promised her a surprise today), got showered, went to the store to conduct some business, and went to Jill's. Hung with my baby for a while and then came home. *nods* Ran the weedeater a bit here at home and then of course I went to Gram and Pap's and mowed at their house. When I got home, I made sweet sausage and onions and finally got to relax some. Yeah, a very busy day. On the plus side, I got to see my honey and she enjoyed the lunch I made for her... and I replaced the dead roses that have been in her vase for a while. ;-)

I work bright and early on Sat. and have Sunday off... I work on Mon. but I get to see my honey Monday night. We go on vacation in a week! I'm sooo excited!!! A whole week with Jill! This is the best birthday present ever! Time with the love of my life!

This week is actually kinda kewl. You know about Sat Sun and Mon. Then I work Tues evening and am off Weds. Work 10-7 Thurs and Fri and then it's vacation!!! *does a happy dance* I'm loving it!

Hopefully Jill and I can catch up with a few people that I haven't seen in a while, actually get to Niagara Falls and just relax and have a good time.

Anyways... I gotta go. Gotta get up bright and early. I'm outtie!
