On a more personal note...
Ok, so it's been awhile since I've posted something about me and what's going on in my life. Why? Because I've had nothing of consequence to blog about. My life is fairly routine. Sometimes I find comfort in that and sometimes I yearn for something more. But I digress... I've found something that I need to blog about, something I have to get off my chest and vent about. It's nothing new, most of you have heard me complain about this before. I can't help it though, the idiocy can only be tolerated so long. Anyway, here's my update for better or worse...
What is it with the customers at the store lately? Is it the heat or what? I swear, I didn't think a human could be this stupid and live to adulthood. I'll give you a few examples and you too can bang your head against a wall in disbelief.
A guy comes up to me with a twelve pack of AA batteries and in the corner it's marked "AA12". Right? He asks me... "What does "AA12" mean?" I told him that it meant it was a twelve pack of batteries and he looks at me like I told him the sky was green.
In the past couple of days I've had several young kids, I'd say about 10-14 years old, ask for cds. "Where can I find Bon Jovi?" I point to the Bon Jovi backer card that we're standing next to as he asked the question. Tonight a kid asked for Michael Jackson cds... I told him to try looking under "J". Do these kids not learn the alphabet in school?
Had a guy tonight who set off the alarm on the camera bar... I went over and reset the alarm, as soon as I turned my back he set it off again. I began to reset the alarm and I noticed that he was still fondling the cameras so I just left the alarm turned off, which I made sure he saw. I stood a discreet distance away and watched as he continued his shopping. Now, the alarm will periodically beep when it's turned off to warn you that the cameras are not protected. This guy continued to look at the cameras for about fifteen minutes and every time the alarm beeped he looked around as if he had no clue what was going on but he wouldn't let the cameras alone long enough for me to reset the alarm again!
The cake, however, goes to the lady Seth had the other day. She came in and asked what kind of batteries her digital camera took. Seth explained that if she didn't know the make and model of her camera he couldn't be sure but a lot of digitals take AA batteries. He then explained that she could purchase standard AA batteries, lithium cells or rechargeable batteries. She asked which is best and Seth explained the advantages and disadvantages of each type of cell and made his recommendation of rechargeable cells being the best long term option. This lady, who apparently wasn't paying attention to the answer of the question she had asked, then began to ask the same question again but this time answering her own question with her misguided facts from an advertisement. She decided that since lithium cells last longer than rechargeables she was gonna buy them even though Seth explained that rechargeables could be used over and over and lithium cells were one and done.
This is why I didn't update with something more personal lately... I didn't want to be all negative and complaining because that's what tends to happen on here... I blog about what's bothering me waaaay more than the good things in life. So I'll end with a positive note.
I'm gonna go test drive a new car tomorrow and if all goes well I should have a new car tomorrow afternoon. Oh! and I have a surprise for Elysa! I can't wait to see what she thinks.
I'm outtie!
