Independence Day
Well, here it is, the Fourth of July 2004. It's Independence Day here in the god ole U.S. of A. A time to pause and reflect on what America stands for and to remember those heroes in uniform who have defended our freedoms so steadfastly and those who continue to do so. It is these people and their sacrifices that allow us to live in the land of opportunity. A land of diversity where you are free to be whom you choose to be and are judged on your merits and nothing else. As we partake in family gatherings, community activities, and fireworks displays let us remember that these are possible because our nation longed for personal freedoms and our brave countrymen have defended those freedoms with their lives.
On a more personal note... I've had a couple of full days since I last updated here. I spent my day off in true scoundrel fashion. I awoke, showered and then called to get a hair appointment. I went and got my haircut and then went shopping. I spent waaaay too much money on star wars figures and the such but I had fun.
Last night, I came home, made supper (meatloaf with sauce, parsleyed mashed potatoes and lima beans) cut some limbs off of trees for mom and then mowed Gram and Pap's bank and cut some brush for them. I've been a busy scoundrel.
Tonight? It's Sun so you all know what that means.... The Grandparent's as always. I'd love to go see some fireworks tonight but.... we'll hafta wait and see I suppose.
I'm outtie for now!
